Youthfest/Dramafest – 13-16 September 2018
Entries are now open for Youthfest and Dramafest 2018.
These two events will both go ahead this year depending on the number of entries we receive for both. We have changed our usual proceedings to accommodate both. The dates for these events will be 13-16 September 2018 at the Stirling Theatre (Morris Place, Innaloo) with Youthfest being held during the day on the 15th and 16th of September 2018 and Dramafest during the evening between the 13th and 15th of September 2018. The presentations will be held on the evening on the 16th of September. Keep your eye on our facebook page and our website for advertising.
Based on feedback from members, it was decided to hold off on our ITA conference until later in the year or early next year. This will hopefully allow more people to attend and not clash with performance dates of clubs.
We are currently looking for clubs to host our Sundowners for the year (July/August and October/November). These events have been well attended by members and have given the hosting clubs the opportunity to showcase upcoming shows. If you are interested, please send me an email and I will go through the planning with you.
Finley Awards/Nominations Night
The nominations night will be held on January 12, 2019 and will be a live broadcast via the internet. Clubs will be able to host their own event at their theatre and celebrate nominations.
The Robert Finley awards night will be held on January 19, 2019.
More information will be forwarded closer to both events. Pop these dates in your diaries.
If there are clubs who have not yet entered shows for the year, please check out our website for more information on this process.
Working with Children Check – Template Policy
At the request of members the ITA engaged Creative Legal, a well respected arts law firm, to interpret the legislation for community theatre and develop a policy template for use by ITA members. This template will eb available from the forms page of the ITA website www.ita.org.au . The template will need to be used exactly as that a template for you to develop a policy that is reflective of your organisation. The template also does not constitute legal advice.
The ITA is currently undertaking a strategic planning exercise and we will keep you updated once the process is completed.
