Resources & Support                                                                      Print this page

The Infertility Treatment Authority provides resources and support for people and families created through Donor Conception in Victoria. Infertility treatment clinics routinely provide counselling for individuals and couples considering donor treatment, but there are times after the birth of a child where questions or concerns arise.

The Infertility Treatment Authority provides a range of information within this website, and staff are available to talk with you. Kate Dobby, the Registers Officer, can provide information about the Registers and how they work. Helen Kane, Manager of Donor Register Services, is an experienced social worker. She is available to discuss the issues that affect to donor conceived people, their parents, donors and other relatives.  Kate Bourne, Counsellor, Donr Register Services is also available to assist with any concerns.

One of the essential questions for people involved in the creation of families using donated gametes is whether or not to tell their child, and how to do so. Information specifically related to this is contained in the Telling section of this website. Donors will find this page useful as well, as they may face similar issues within their own families. Information about the Registers is relevant for all people affected by donor conception. The web addresses included in the Links page are also useful for all people concerned about donor conception.  Again, our counsellors Helen Kane and Kate Bourne are available to talk to you about any issues which relate to your family.
