ITA Code of Conduct
Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to set out the standard of behaviour expected of the Committee of Management, Adjudicators or nominated representatives of the Independent Theatre Association (W.A.) Inc. (the ‘ITA’).
In agreeing to join the Committee of Management or accepting an appointment to a voluntary position (such as an adjudicator), each individual must also agree to adhere to these codes at all times.
Application
This Code of Conduct is adopted as a by-law of the ITA pursuant to clause 13.1 of the Constitution. All members of the Committee of Management and all adjudicators for the Finley Awards and Youthfest are required to review, sign, and abide by this Code of Conduct, plus any other agents acting on behalf of the ITA at the discretion of the Committee of Management.

Diligence in role
➢ Be diligent in their role
➢ Where applicable, attend Committee meetings or forward their apology to the Secretary prior to the meeting
➢ Attend to their fiduciary responsibility where applicable
➢ Adhere to the policies, procedures, by-laws and Constitution of the ITA
Respect and inclusion
➢ Respect the rights and dignity of every person regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, and ensure that the ITA promotes a safe and inclusive environment
➢ Treat all people associated with the ITA including members, volunteers, adjudicators, partners, contractors, external stakeholders, and members of the Committee of Management with respect at all times
Impartiality, integrity and ethical conduct
➢ Be impartial, consistent, and transparent in conduct and decision-making
➢ Accept responsibility for their actions, decisions and conduct
➢ Refrain from using any position, information, or resources gained through their role for personal advantage or to benefit any other individual or entity
➢ Be honest at all times
➢ Maintain the confidentiality of meetings (including meetings of the Committee of Management and Adjudicator meetings), information made available in the course of their duties, and of Committee and/or Adjudicator decisions
➢ Declare any actual or perceived conflicts of interest as they arise and act to ensure that these conflicts do not pose a risk to the ITA or its members
➢ Respect the equipment, resources and intellectual property of the ITA and only use these for ITA-related purposes and activities
➢ Where applicable, be bound by, and committed to, decisions legitimately taken by the Committee of Management, whether or not they agree with the decision
➢ Adhere to and promote wherever possible the ITA’s Safe Theatres Policy
Professionalism and decision-making
➢ Always represent the ITA in a professional manner
➢ Make decisions in best interests of the ITA, its members, and the Western Australian community theatre sector as a whole
➢ Be open to feedback from Members of the ITA and respond with contrstuctively with professionalism and respect
➢ Act as a positive role model with respect to good behaviour as an audience member and/or participant in community theatre
➢ Refrain from making unauthorised public comments about any aspect of the ITA that could damage the ITA or its reputation
➢ Remain open and perceptive to opportunities for improved performance of the ITA’s operations and functions
