84 Charing Cross Road - Wanneroo Repertory Inc.
This wonderful show is a dramatization of business letters between a young struggling writer in New York and an antiquarian book store in London. In a sense, these are also love letters. They are about the love of good literature. The play takes place over a twenty year period, beginning in 1949 when Helene Hanff first writes Marks & Co. and ends in 1969 with the death of Frank Doel, the delightfully dusty supplier of so many old volumes to Helen who has shown her gratitude through the years by sending "care packages" to the staff of Marks & Co.
Shrek The Musical - Koorliny Arts Centre
"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.
Big Fish: A New Broadway Musical - The Murray Music and Drama Club
Big Fish is a heartfelt, whimsical musical that tells the story of Edward Bloom, a charming traveling salesman with a gift for storytelling. His larger-than-life tales of adventure, from befriending giants to saving a town from ruin, have enchanted those around him, especially his young son, Will.
However, as Will grows up, he becomes increasingly sceptical of his father's fantastical stories, yearning to uncover the truth behind the embellishments. As Edward’s health begins to fade, Will embarks on a journey to understand the man behind the myth, discovering that the line between reality and imagination is often blurred but always full of magic and meaning.
Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the Tim Burton film of the same name Big Fish is a touching exploration of family, legacy, and the power of storytelling, celebrating both the extraordinary and the ordinary moments that shape our lives. Full of wonder, humour, and heart, Big Fish reminds us that life is the stories we tell.

But all is not well in this curious place for it is the Queen of Hearts' un-birthday party and the wicked Knave has a plot to steal the jam tarts! With the help of the Duchess, a sassy Cheshire Cat and the maddest of Hatters, will Alice be able to save Wonderland? And why is a raven like a writing desk?
Oliver! Jr - Wanneroo Secondary College
The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.
The Mikado - The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of WA
Nanki-Poo, the in-disguise royal son of the Mikado, has fled court to avoid an arranged marriage. He arrives in the town of Titipu seeking the beautiful Yum-Yum, only to find she is engaged to Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner – previously arrested on the charge of flirting.
When an edict from the Mikado demands a quota execution, soft-hearted Ko-Ko finds he cannot bring himself to kill anyone… Meanwhile, Nanki-Poo declares he cannot live without Yum-Yum and plans to end it all. An idea is ignited to give them both what they want.
However, the arrival in town of the spurned Katisha turns everything topsy-turvy. Amid matchmaking mischief and preposterous plots, the tangled web unravels; will the punishment fit the crime?
Puffs - St Mark's Anglican Community School
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to Wizard School. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A play for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.
Play On! - Roleystone Theatre
This is the hilarious story of a theatre group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty author who keeps revising the script. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show, Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal, and the final act is the actual performance, in which anything that can go wrong, does. When the author decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax and a thoroughly hilarious romp. Even the sound effects reap their share of laughter.
The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas - Primadonna Productions
A hard hitting TV reporter exposes The Chicken Ranch, a decades old brothel operating in Texas, while authorities “look the other way”. When the local college football team is treated to a night there as a reward for winning the football final, and it coincides with a raid by the TV station……all hell is unleashed!
21 Chump Street - Darlington Theatre Players
21 Chump Street is a cautionary tale of Justin, a high school honors student who falls for a cute transfer girl. Justin goes to great lengths to oblige Naomi's request for marijuana in the hopes of winning her affection - only to find out that his crush is actually an undercover cop planted in the school to find drug dealers.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead - GRADS Theatre Company
Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead flips the script on Hamlet, focusing on two minor characters who are bewildered by the events unfolding around them. Summoned by the king to figure out what's wrong with Hamlet, they encounter a traveling theater troupe and witness snippets of the familiar play.
While waiting to fulfill their mission, they engage in absurd conversations and coin-tossing games, grappling with their lack of control and purpose in a story they don't understand. Stoppard's play blends comedy and tragedy to explore themes of fate, free will, and the nature of reality.
Queens - Darlington Theatre Players
King Henry VIII is trapped in purgatory, bound to his throne by a sinister Fool and the ghostly Women in White. Here in his gilded cage, he is forced to relive the sins he committed against his queens, mistresses and people of the court, over and over again, for an eternity.
Sure thing - Darlington Theatre Players
Two people meet in a cafe and find their way through a conversational minefield as an offstage bell interrupts their false starts, gaffes, and faux pas on the way to falling in love.
Hansard - Garrick Theatre Club Inc.
Hansard is an intimate domestic drama about a long and troubled marriage. It is also a comedy about politics and identity and the failings of the ruling class. Set around the passing of the Section 28 legislation in 1988, which banned the “promotion” of homosexuality. It is funny, tender, brutal, and ultimately devastating.
Finding Nemo Jr. - St Mark’s Anglican Community School

But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. Hoods - St Mark's Anglican Community School
Each night two hoods ride a train to a wrecking yard on the outskirts of the city. Here, in this cemetery of stories, they are storytellers with the power to fast forward, pause and rewind. Tonight, they tell the story of three kids left in a car.
Rewind. It’s Friday, KFC night and the last day of school before Christmas. Kyle, Jessie and baby brother Troy are waiting in the car for their mum. As night approaches the car park takes on a dark and sinister aspect filled with strange and familiar characters. The shopping centre closes, Mum still hasn’t returned and the baby won’t stop crying.
Exploring issues of poverty and family violence, Hoods is a suburban tale of survival and solidarity against the odds.
The Stones - St Mark's Anglican Community School
Based on a true story, THE STONES is about risk taking behaviour and the pain of guilt when things go too far. THE STONES follows the story of two mates, aged 13 and 15 who are charged with manslaughter after throwing a rock off a freeway overpass and killing a driver.

Julius Caesar - Roleystone Theatre
Caesar’s assassination is just the halfway point of Julius Caesar. The first part of the play leads to his death; the second portrays the consequences. As the action begins, Rome prepares for Caesar’s triumphal entrance. Brutus, Caesar’s friend and ally, fears that Caesar will become king, destroying the republic. Cassius and others convince Brutus to join a conspiracy to kill Caesar.
On the day of the assassination, Caesar plans to stay home at the urging of his wife, Calphurnia. A conspirator, Decius Brutus, persuades him to go to the Senate with the other conspirators and his friend, Mark Antony. At the Senate, the conspirators stab Caesar to death. Antony uses a funeral oration to turn the citizens of Rome against them. Brutus and Cassius escape as Antony joins forces with Octavius Caesar.
Encamped with their armies, Brutus and Cassius quarrel, then agree to march on Antony and Octavius. In the battle which follows, Cassius, misled by erroneous reports of loss, persuades a slave to kill him; Brutus’s army is defeated. Brutus commits suicide, praised by Antony as “the noblest Roman of them all.”
