The 15th Annual Robert Finley Award Results
Held on Sunday 10th December 1989 at the Playhouse Theatre. Notable attendees included the Shadow Minister of the Arts, Ray Omodei, Pat Skevington, Jenny McNae, Joan Pop. The evening was hosted by John Saunders, artistic director of the Playhouse. Entertainment was provided by Darlington Theatre Players performing a number from Paulines Old Time Music Hall, Playlovers performing a song from You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Rockingham Theatre performing a selection from SS McLarty, and GRADS performing a scene from The Miracle Worker. Terrence Donovan presented the main awards.

For an excellent evening in the theatre for their performance, Janet Hyslop and Fred Petersen in Wait Until Dark. This award was presented by Hano Kemeny as a recommendation on behalf of Peter Kemeny who passed away during the year.
