The 30th Annual Robert Finley Award Results
Held on Saturday 22nd January 2005 at the Performing Arts Centre at Penrhos College. For the performance year of December 2003 to November 2004. The host for the evening were Craig Williams and Melissa Merchant. There were performances of excerpts from Stories from Surburban Road, The Tempest, Fiddler on the Roof, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Shirley Valentine, and Blood Brothers.
The two winners of the Storm the Stage competition, Samantha Touchell and Georgina Williams, also performed with an excerpt from Steel Magnolias and the song Nothing from A Chorus Line respectively. This year introduced several new awards thanks to sponsorship from Rotarty Club of Cannington & Storm the Stage and Black Swan Theatre Company. Tom Gutteridge from Black Swan and Don Briggs from Rotarty Club of Cannington attended and spoke on the evening. There were 43 shows entered into the awards, 33 plays and 10 musicals.

This year the Sheila Buchanan award has been given to a club that has produced consistently excellent work throughout the whole year. Its programme has been challenging and thought provoking and yet its standard and commitment to excellence has been beyond question.
