Dramafest is now part of the Finley Awards

Dramafest was originally known the West Australian State One Act Drama Festival. It has been running for over 30 years and at its height was the largest showcase of West Australian talent on the stage.

While the weekend festival of theatre is no longer running, many community theatre still produce a season of one act plays throughout the year. The Dramafest award categories are now presented at the Annual Robert Finley Awards, and from 2024 are included as a One Act category amongst Plays and Musicals. Retaining the awards recognises the long history of Dramafest and the WA State One Act Drama Festival, and acknowledges the importance of one act seasons in nurturing emerging talents in Western Australia’s performing arts community.

Past award recipients will be retained for posterity, with future recipients to be included in the results of Finley Awards.
